ECIS Anniversary Gala Concert Smetana Hall, The Municipal House (2005)
For the second time in Prague, the annual conference of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS) took place from April 1-3, 2005. Our school co-organised their cultural programme and had the privilege to invite some of its students to take part at the official opening concert in the Smetana Hall of the Municipal House. This is actually our largest concert hall and along with the Rudolfinum, where Dvorak premiered many of his works. It is the most prestigious concert hall in this country.
Our students - Alžběta Jandová (violin), Veronika Wilkinson (violin) and Marina Zhuková (recorder) skilfully performed demanding pieces by Rieding, Baklanova and Verdi accompanied by the Virtuosi di Praga. It was for the first time that these excellent musicians accompanied students of such early age.

Children´s Festival Lenešice, 2005
This June day was a success on all fronts! The sun was bright and visitors were in the hundreds! As you can see from the photos everyone had fun. There were plenty of games, arts and crafts, swimming, kayaking, horse riding and other activities offered in the natural setting in Lenesice. Children and parents all enjoyed themselves. A part of the event was an all day concert marathon where ISMFA students, and even their teachers, took turns performing. There was even enough food and drink for everyone.
The partner of this great event was Česká spořitelna. Thank you again!

Opening Gala Concert Emauzy Abbey , 2008
We opened the 2008 year in the mystical setting of the Emauzy Abbey. Even the weather was “mystical”: it rained, hailed and even snowed. Despite it all we were able to open a new season with many parents and partners and the concert had a lovely atmosphere. The highlight of the evening was a performance by world renowned harpist Katerina Englichova and oboe player Vilem Veverka. As you can see from the photos, Katerina even played with our students. So inspite of the weather we had a beautiful and unforgettable evening.

Music City, December 2008
In 2008 ISMFA started its cooperation with MUSIC CITY. Whoever doesn’t know this amazing building in Prague 9 – Vysocany do not hesitate to go have look! We organized for the children (and the parents too as we learned) a fantastic workshop of percussion instruments. Children were able to try out a whole series of instruments that fill this four storey building. Children took home not only plenty of new experiences but also treats from St. Nicholas. This event was a huge success and will for that reason be repeated in 2009. Come and take part!
The partner of this event was the Expat Center of the Česká Spořitelna. THANK YOU!

Children´s Concert British Embassy in Prague, 2009
Just like in 2007, in 2008 ISMFA students were kindly invited by her excellence Linda Duffield, the British Ambassador to the Czech Republic, the perform in her beautiful residence. It was again an unforgettable experience for the children and a great honour for to meet this charismatic individual in person. The ambassador’s stay in the Czech Republic ended in May 2008 and we have been left only with happy memories. Nevertheless, we believe that the British Ambassador will again open its gates to us and that our concerts can become a nice tradition.

ZOO Prague, 2009
At the zoo we were welcomed not only by a fantastic number of animals of all shapes and sizes but also stunning sunny weather. Our concerts were part of a large event: the grand opening of the new seal pavilion. Students had the opportunity to perform in the Archa theatre in the children’s section of the zoo and participate in other activities such as dance, music and craft workshops. As part of ISMFA’s programme we arranged for free zoo entrance for the children as well as access to the music ateliers for the youngest children. So, even though at the end of the day everyone was tired, the event was very successful. For this we have to thank the ZOO Prague for enabling us to have this event within their walls! We urge to all to visit – it is a true Eden for children and animals alike!

Family Concerts
An important part of ISMFA are our Family Concerts. They are held in informal family settings and their main goal is to teach children that playing for an audience is not “torture” but a pleasure. So, even if their performance doesn’t go completely smoothly they still earn praise for having the courage to show off in public that, which they have been working on for weeks or even months. The photo gallery below provides a selection of photographs from a number of such small family concerts. You can find their schedule for the 2009/2010 year here. Come and see us – both you and your children invited!

Saint Nicholas in Music City and African Drumming, 2009
ISMFA has traditionally organized the "Day of Saint Nicholas“in Music City (Vysocany, Prague 9) for children and our students. Children were asked to help decorate the Christmas tree and Saint Nicholas has prepared small gifts for them. There were also popular drumming workshops, which actively participated parents of children in this year and nice part of this day certainly were the scheduled Family concerts. Children create a pleasant atmosphere of these concerts and their efforts are rewarded not only with applause, but also a good Christmas cookies.
Christmas Concert - Kaiserstejnsky Palace, 2010

For children and parents we have prepared a small Christmas treats and children also liked the decorated Christmas tree. Christmas concert was a success and our guest Margaret Mátlová (soprano) and her singing brings the warm and festive Christmas mood to all our hearts. We wish you very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Jazz Gala Concert, 2010
The end of the school year 2009/2010, we made quite unusual, but beautifully "jazzy". For the first time we left the final concerts of classical concepts, and we've invited young musicians (Jan Mazur Piano, keyboard;Vladimir Micenko, bass guitar; Adrian Ševeček, percussion; Jan Pospíšil, Saxophone), who were the music background to our students playing solo. Amazing space in Town Hall Nusle was full of the parents, friends and children, and the atmosphere was relaxed - maybe thanks to the well-known Beatles songs or Bob G. McFerrin and Gerschwin songs and we all saw that children just loved making the music:-).
