meet the music“DIFFERENT HEARING”“Creativity, concentration, communication – 3Cs for your child in the field of non-traditional music education”
“ It's focused on children aged 5 and over, either those, who already play an instrument, or children without any musical experience whatsoever. It brings them a variety of entertaining musical activities, developing individual abilities and skills that they can also use in everyday life beyond music.
Using basic elements of musical improvisation, such as relaxation, concentration and communication, children are led to create worlds of sounds, concentrate on them, listen to them, communicate via those with others, but also to come up with their own story and its sound. One of the children's most favourite parts of the project is making their own musical instruments, creating ensembles and conducting them. A warm-up musical exercise at the beginning of each lesson helps children overcome they shyness and nourishes elements of musicality without children having to be able to sing or play an instrument.
The whole project is based on the philosophy of a “shared starting line”, equality of all participants at the beginning of the course as well as throughout it. That's the reason why children don't use traditional musical instruments but everyday objects, for example toys, PET bottles and cans, egg slicers and flower pots, practically anything they can find or make to create sounds. While improvising together with others they acquire the essential habits of social behaviour.
The improvisational phase is followed by the compositional one. Children draw the sounds on sheets of paper, by which they connect the worlds of music and art and learn to abstract and abbreviate. Then they turn these records into scores and interpret them. Learning to combine the spontaneous and rational leads them to develop constructive thinking.
During the whole course, children's creativity is activated and their hearing spectrum widens significantly. Even those children who don't posses common elements of musicality, discover an amazing variety of sound worlds as well as group cooperation, and quite often they come up with remarkable ideas showing highly developed creativity.
For children who already play a musical instrument, the elements of improvisation broaden their artistic base, creative view of the compositions interpreted, relaxation when performing and a rich spectrum of musical imagination. The compositional elements then add to the insight of the performed compositions and understanding of their forms. This course introduces to both groups a world of quality music, opening up artistic and musical possibilities for a lifetime.
Lessons take place once a week and last 45 minutes. Due to its innovative approach the course is going to be continuously monitored by specialists from both universities and it has been included in the scope of their project, supported by the European Union Grant Agency. FEES and CONDITIONS:
